We areaffiliated with the Canadian National Baptist Convention, and have an average attendance ofapproximately 350 people of all ages each Sunday. Situated in one of the fastest growingcommunities in Canada, we are only 20 minutes west of the City of Calgary, nestled againstsweeping views of the majestic Rocky Mountains.We are a church that believes in:● The authority and sufficiency of God's Word● The necessity and privilege of prayer● Intentional discipleship that helps believers mature in Christ● Local and global missions that aim to help lost people hear the gospel and be saved● Compassionate outreach that serves the needs of our neighboursWe desire to see lives transformed by the grace and truth of Jesus Christ – within our churchfamily, throughout Cochrane, and to the ends of the earth.If you are a pastor who leads with humility and grace, has a gift for shepherding and disciplingothers, and has a joy for preaching God's Word with clarity and conviction, we invite you toprayerfully consider this opportunity to become our Senior Pastor.Key Roles and Responsibilities● Demonstrates Christlike character and integrity in all aspects of life and ministry● Guards and handles sound doctrine correctly, equipping believers to discern and standfirm amid challenges to biblical truth● Leads the preaching team in faithful, expositional preaching that teaches and applies thewhole counsel of God's Word● Shepherds the congregation with servant leadership, compassion and sincerity● Helps guide members of the body to a closer and deeper relationship with God● Seeks the Lord prayerfully for direction, exercising sound judgment, wisdom, anddiscernment● Provides administrative oversight to the pastoral team and support staff● Develops leaders who train and equip others in the church to serve effectively● Mobilizes the church to reach the lost with the gospel● Partners with other like-minded churches and ministries to serve and engage thecommunity and demonstrate the love of Christ in practical ways QualificationsWe are seeking a pastor who meets the biblical qualifications found in 1 Timothy 3:1–7, Titus1:5–9, and 1 Peter 5:1–4. Other qualifications include the following:● Must be in full agreement with Bow Valley Baptist Church's Statement of Faith● Affiliation, or willingness to affiliate, with the Canadian National Baptist Convention● Minimum 5 years experience leading a church as Senior / Lead Pastor● Seminary training aligned with the Canadian National Baptist Convention or SouthernBaptist ConventionsThis is a full time position with salary and benefits.
