Calvary Baptist Church is seeking to fill the full-time position of Senior Pastor. Calvary Baptist Church is a Christ-centered, Bible-believing, Southern Baptist church located in Idaho Falls, Idaho. At CBC, we desire to see people connect to God through worship, to each other through small groups, and to the world through service. Calvary Baptist is solidly conservative in its theology and blended in its worship style (hymns + worship songs). We currently average around 200 in worship and 120 in Sunday school with room for growth. We are one of the largest churches in the Utah-Idaho Southern Baptist Convention.

Idaho Falls is a mission field. The majority of people (~70%) in our city belong to the LDS (Mormon) church. Idaho Falls is the largest city in Eastern Idaho with a population of nearly 65,000 (metro population 150,000). Idaho Falls is often featured in various publications' lists of "Best Places to Live" due to its relative economic vitality, high quality of life, and proximity to world-class outdoor recreation. Idaho Falls is located 3 hours north of Salt Lake City, UT, and is approximately 1-1⁄2 hours from both Yellowstone Nation Park and Jackson, WY. Idaho Falls serves as the hub of Eastern Idaho, as well as much of Western Wyoming.

Requirements:

The Senior Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church is to be a man who submits his life to the authority of God's Word and the example of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. He should be a servant-leader who exemplifies the Christian life, bears the fruit of the Spirit, and strives to glorify God in all that he does. He should be the church's leader and example in the proclamation of the gospel through both preaching and personal evangelism. The Senior Pastor will lead the church in spiritual matters and administer the ordinances of the church. He will ensure that Calvary Baptist Church functions as a New Testament church in regards to worship, discipleship, fellowship, ministry, and missions. The Senior Pastor must work with the church staff, deacons, and other church leadership, in cooperation with the congregation, to fulfill the Great Commission.

The ideal candidate for Senior Pastor at Calvary Baptist Church should:

Meet the qualifications and characteristics of a New Testament Pastor as written in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1. Be in complete agreement with CBC's doctrinal statement of the Baptist Faith & Message, as adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention in 2000. Possess a graduate degree (minimum of Master's Degree is preferred) from an SBC-affiliated seminary or university. Be an ordained minister. Have previous experience in pastoring a church. Be willing and able to work with and lead a multi-staff church. Possess solid interpersonal skills and be able to relate to and counsel people of all ages. Compensation:
