Job Description:
Desert Springs Presbyterian Church is seeking a faithful, humble shepherd to lead a small but committed congregation into its next season of health and growth. We are a church of approximately 35 regular attendees, with a strong core of mature believers, several empty-nester families, and a small but meaningful group of younger households. While our size has declined from earlier years, our sense of purpose and unity has grown. We are located in a desirable and growing area of Tucson, providing meaningful long-term opportunity for outreach and congregational growth.
Position Qualifications:
Desert Springs PCA seeks a pastor who faithfully follows Jesus Christ and is committed to the authority of Scripture. The pastor must meet the biblical qualifications found in 1 Timothy 3:1–7, Titus 1:5–9, and 1 Peter 5:1–4.
CHARACTER
The pastor should demonstrate:
* A mature and growing faith in Christ
* Integrity, humility, and emotional maturity
* Strong biblical convictions
* Compassion, wisdom, and good judgment
* A servant's heart and willingness to be accountable
PREACHING AND TEACHING
The pastor will:
* Preach and teach God's Word accurately and faithfully
* Present biblically sound, Christ-centered messages
* Defend sound doctrine with grace and truth
* Encourage spiritual growth and discipleship
LEADERSHIP
The pastor should:
* Lead by example
* Equip others for ministry
* Develop future leaders
* Work well with church leadership and volunteers
* Resolve conflict in a biblical manner
SHEPHERDING
The pastor will:
* Care for the spiritual needs of the congregation
* Pray regularly for Desert Springs PCA Church
* Provide pastoral care, encouragement, and biblical guidance
* Promote unity, love, and healthy relationships within the church
MINISTRY PHILOSOPHY
Desert Springs PCA Church seeks a pastor who values faithfulness over popularity, leads with humility, and is committed to glorifying God through the faithful preaching of His Word, prayer, discipleship, evangelism, and servant leadership.
