We affirm the Baptist Faith and Message (2000) and seek a Senior Pastor who will faithfully preach God's Word, shepherd the congregation, and lead the church in spiritual growth, evangelism, and missions.
Position SummaryThe Senior Pastor serves as the spiritual leader and primary preacher of the church, providing biblical teaching, pastoral care, and vision. In accordance with Southern Baptist polity, the Senior Pastor works alongside deacons and church leadership while being accountable to the congregation.
Key ResponsibilitiesPreaching & TeachingPreach expository, Christ-centered sermons grounded in ScriptureTeach and uphold doctrine consistent with the Baptist Faith and Message (2000)Lead worship services in partnership with music and ministry leadersProvide leadership in ordinances including believer's baptism by immersion and the Lord's SupperPastoral Care & ShepherdingProvide pastoral counseling, prayer, and spiritual guidancePerform weddings, funerals, and memorial servicesCare for members during illness, crisis, and life transitionsPromote unity and biblical reconciliation within the churchLeadership & VisionLead the church in fulfilling the Great Commission through evangelism and discipleshipCast vision and provide direction for church ministriesEquip and mentor staff, deacons, and lay leadersEncourage spiritual growth and biblical stewardshipChurch Administration & GovernanceWork cooperatively with deacons and church committeesProvide leadership in business meetings as appropriateOversee church staff and ministriesParticipate in budget planning and stewardship initiativesMissions & Community EngagementPromote local, state, national, and international missionsSupport cooperative missions through the SBC, including Lottie Moon and Annie Armstrong offeringsRepresent the church within the local communityEncourage outreach and evangelistic effortsQualificationsRequired
A clear calling to pastoral ministryAgreement with and commitment to the Baptist Faith and Message (2000)Ordination as a minister of the GospelDemonstrated experience in preaching, teaching, and pastoral leadershipStrong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skillsM.Div. or equivalent degreePreferred
Master of Divinity (MDiv) or higher from an SBC-affiliated seminary5+ years of pastoral or ministry leadership experienceExperience leading in a congregational church settingM.Div. from an SBC affiliated seminaryPersonal CharacteristicsSpiritually mature with a strong personal walk with ChristHumble, servant-hearted leaderBiblically faithful and doctrinally soundRelational, compassionate, and approachableCommitted to evangelism, discipleship, and missionsCompensation & BenefitsSalary and benefits commensurate with experience and qualifications.
