The Position
Mountain Grace Church in Dubois, Wyoming is a church family prayerfully seeking a Lead Pastor who senses God's invitation to walk alongside a devoted, Spirit-filled church family and help shape what He is already doing in our midst. We are looking for a humble, Christ-centered shepherd—someone who loves people, teaches Scripture faithfully, and is eager to see lives transformed by the Gospel. A pastor who will lead the church to be centered on the full counsel of God's word and prayer, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and growing in holiness and obedience to God's truth, as we love one another and love our community growing to be fully devoted followers of Jesus.

The Opportunity
The Lead Pastor serves as the primary spiritual leader and co-teacher of Mountain Grace Church. In partnership with our Elder and Leadership Team, the pastor helps steward the vision, oversee ministry life, and guide the church forward with grace, knowledge, wisdom, Biblical teaching, spiritual growth, humility, and faith.
Key Areas of Ministry
Preach and teach the full counsel of God's Word with clarity, depth, and grace.Lead weekly worship services.Officiate Communion and Baptism.Offer pastoral care, encouragement, and appropriate counseling.Officiate at weddings, funerals, and special pastoral services as needed.Provide oversight and support for the day-to-day operations of the church.Provide leadership and oversight for the ministries of the church.Disciple and develop future leaders and servants within the church.Encourage unity, faithfulness, and sustainable growth over time.

Key Responsibilities
1. Preaching, Teaching & Worship
Faithfully prepare and deliver engaging, biblically sound sermons.Lead Sunday worship services in collaboration with the worship team and lay leaders.Administer the ordinances of the church (e.g., Communion, Baptism, and Baby Dedications).Share the responsibility of preaching with fellow teaching pastors and able, approved workmen who correctly handle the word of truth. Oversee the Training & Equipping ministries of the church for adults, youth, and children.2. Pastoral Care & Shepherding
Provide pastoral counseling and spiritual guidance to congregation members.Officiate weddings and conduct funeral/memorial services.Visit the sick, elderly, and homebound within the local community. Equip the saints, church members, to do the work of the ministry.3. Leadership & Administration
Provide executive leadership and oversight to church staff, volunteers, and ministry directors.Work closely with the Elder board to ensure the church's doctrinal integrity and fiscal health, overseeing the activities of the church, its organizations, officers, and other church leaders in performing their tasks in worship, proclamation, education, and evangelism. Honor Mountain Grace Church's Elder-led organizational structure.Assist in developing, managing, and executing the annual church budget.Oversee all ministries of the church for growth and fulfillment of the church's purposes.4. Community Outreach & Evangelism
Serve as a visible representative of the church in the local Dubois/Wyoming community.Build relationships with local schools, civic leaders, and other community organizations to foster outreach.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 3-5+ years of proven experience in pastoral ministry, specifically in preaching, staff supervision, and church leadership.Education: Attended Seminary School or equivalent Biblical College or Christian Education but not a new graduate.Family: Candidates should be married, preferably with children.Alignment: Full agreement with the church's statement of faith and doctrinal bylaws. Community Awareness: Candidates should be well acquainted with the remoteness of Dubois, the challenges of living in a small town, and the demographics of the area and Wyoming.Biblical: Candidates shall have qualifications consistent with 1 Timothy 3:1-7 & Titus 1Biblical: Place the Bible before Religion.Character: Candidates shall demonstrate an exemplary Christian testimony in private, family and public life.Accountability: Candidates shall be willing to be responsible and accountable to the Elder board and Church membership.Strengths: Strong in abilities of Leadership, Prayer, Discipleship, and Preaching.Skillset: Strong verbal and written communication skills, conflict resolution, and administrative proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Theology, Biblical Studies, or a related field from an accredited seminary or university is preferred.Personality: Prefer an outgoing and confident man who is willing to engage with the community and members of the church.Experience: Have pastored a church of similar size or larger than Mountain Grace Church.Experience: Past, successful experience in Children's and Youth ministry is a plus.Experience: Leading outreach ministries is a plus.Experience: Specific family and/or marriage counseling experience is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits will be a discussion between the candidate and the Elder Board after your calling to Mountain Grace Church is confirmed and an offer to be our Lead Pastor is accepted.
