Ormsby Heights Baptist Church is prayerfully seeking a full-time Senior Pastor. The ideal candidate will be a man called by God and set apart for the gospel ministry, who will serve as the spiritual leader of the church and committed to lead by example.

The candidate must meet the biblical qualifications of 1 Timothy 3:1-7; 2 Timothy 2:24-25; Titus 1:5-9; and 1 Peter 5:1-3 and must affirm the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.

The Candidate must have a strong prayer and devotional life, strive to live with integrity according to God's Word, and be a godly, God-fearing example. He must be fully committed to fulfilling the Great Commission, leading in evangelistic efforts, have a cooperative spirit that ensures an effective working relationship with all church staff and leadership. The candidate must have a shepherd's heart and be committed to Love, Live, Lead with Ormsby Heights Baptist Church and staff.

The Candidate is expected to communicate the church's purpose and vision to staff, members, and attendees, and equip others to use their spiritual gifts to become disciples and leaders. He will lead pastoral and support staff in their various areas of ministry.

The Candidate is expected to plan and preach expository sermons that faithfully present the truths of Scripture and encourage practical application.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

• Providing leadership and oversight for scheduled worship services.
• Safeguarding the church's doctrinal integrity.
• Administering the ordinances of the Lord's Supper and baptism.
• Encouraging stewardship and support of Great Commission endeavors.
• Schedule and lead the New Members classes.
• Chairing and serving the Church Council in calendar planning.
• Consult and provide support in meetings of the ministry teams and committees.
• Be supportive of the Louisville Regional Baptist Association, Kentucky Baptist Convention, and Southern Baptist Convention.
• Be fully committed to giving through the Cooperative Program and encourage faithful stewardship among church members.
