Senior Pastor Job Announcement
Ramona Southern Baptist Church (RSBC) is seeking a senior pastor. Positioned within the town of Ramona, California, RSBC is a small community church with about 50 active members. We are a congregation shaped by the authority of Scripture and Bible-centered teaching. Worship is a blend of both contemporary songs and traditional hymns. Other church activities in which the approved candidate would be expected to lead and/or participate in include Sunday School, small group Bible studies, and Vacation Bible School.
Qualifications and Requirements Required Qualifications:
- Candidates must meet the biblical qualifications of an Overseer as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, and 1Peter 5:1-4.
- Candidates must affirm and uphold the doctrinal beliefs of the Southern Baptist Convention, as expressed in the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 (https://bfm.sbc.net/bfm2000/).
- Candidates must have completed seminary training or an equivalent formal theological education.
- Candidates must have a minimum of two years prior vocational pastoral ministry experience.
- Candidates must reside or be willing to relocate in or near the community served by the church. The ideal candidate will possess the following traits:
- Values Scripture over personal agendas. • Ability to work collaboratively with elders, deacons, committees, and ministry teams.
- Willingness to engage in direct personal outreach, home visits, shut-in care, and counseling.
- A heart for discipleship, mentoring, and equipping others for ministry.
- Commitment to community outreach, evangelism, and local engagement.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Regularly preach and teach during Sunday worship services and mid-week Bible studies.
- Conduct funeral services and wedding ceremonies, as needed.
- Provide pastoral counseling to individuals and families facing personal, relational, or spiritual challenges.
- Visit members in hospitals, nursing homes, and other care settings to offer prayer, encouragement, and support.
- Oversee administrative responsibilities related to the church office, finances, facilities, and ministry operations.
- Lead, support, and organize the Elder Board, fostering unity, communication, and shared leadership.
- Maintain a consistent presence in the church office, ensuring availability to staff, ministry leaders, and church members to meet daily pastoral and administrative needs.
Compensation: $50,000.00/year
