Social Media & Video Associate
OVERVIEW
Purpose and Primary Responsibilities: The Social Media and Video Associate will support the communications team by managing Christ Community's social media presence and contributing to the creation of compelling visual content. This position reports to the Pastor of Strategic Initiatives and works closely with the Communications Coordinator and Director of Video. The role requires high-level creativity, a collaborative spirit, and the ability to execute projects across multiple ministries and campuses. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, culturally aware, mission-driven, and proficient in the latest tools and trends in video and digital media.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Messaging & Marketing
Manage and maintain all Christ Community social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, X, etc.) while exploring new platforms and digital strategies that align with our mission.Own the social media calendar and schedule, post, and monitor all content, including responding to messages and comments in a timely and professional manner (when needed).Create/format all social media assets (video, photo, graphic design, etc.) and work alongside the communications team when needed to gather additional content.Collaborate across departments to ensure clear, consistent, and gospel-centered messaging.Work alongside Communications Coordinator & Director of Video create strategic content for church-wide initiatives such as Summer Giving Challenge, Easter, Christmas, and Fall Kickoff.
Design & Storytelling
Assist the Director of Video in producing creative content to tell the story of what God is doing through Christ Community. Create social media assets that support churchwide storytelling.Help develop visuals (video, photo, graphic) to support special initiatives, sermon series, and seasonal campaigns.Lead photography team and assist in curating content through photography and video at key events.Ensure all produced content maintains our voice and visual standards.
Content Creation
Create a high volume of video content—from weekly updates and announcements to ministry stories and event recaps.Produce content in coordination with ongoing initiatives from the communications team.Coordinate, equip, and provide vision for the volunteer photography team. Cultivate a culture of creativity, excellence, collaboration, and missional focus among volunteer creatives.Ensure creative content is engaging and missionally aligned across platforms and formats.Support the video production and editing of two individual video podcasts: Christ Community Sermons & The Pastor's Lab.Other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL ABILITIES
Create dynamic visual content for sermon series, special events, and other strategic projects.Possess working knowledge of or ability to learn the following:Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, etc.)Motion graphicsDSLR cameras, videography, photography, lighting, and audioDaVinci Resolve, RED and Canon EOS R camera systemsWordPress, Church Community Builder (CCB), and Office SuiteBlackmagic broadcast switchers (preferred)Communicate clearly and efficiently in written, visual, and digital formats.Demonstrate professional experience in filming, editing, and producing video content.Work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with flexibility and grace.Be a team player with a hunger to learn and grow in your craft.
