Student Minister
First Baptist Church of Marianna, Florida is seeking a full-time or part-time Student Minister. This position will be responsible for the development and administration of an effective ministry to our youth (6th – 12th grades).
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will:
· Have been licensed and ordained in the ministry.
· Meet the qualifications of a pastor/overseer from scripture (1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9).
· Bachelor's degree or higher.
· Preferred to have prior experience in youth/student ministries.
· Have sound doctrine in keep with Baptist Message and Faith 2000.
· Be able to demonstrate effective and age-appropriate teaching of God's word.
· Have a strong sense of self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and interpersonal skills.
· Assist the Pastor in providing pastoral care for the church at large.
Responsibilities:
Develop and Administrate/Oversee an Effective Ministry to Youth and their Families
· Work with the Pastor and others in planning, coordinating, and evaluating a comprehensive educational and ministry program for youth, and university students.
· Enlist and train leaders, teachers, and volunteers for youth, and university ministries.
· In conjunction with Children's Director, plan and conduct outreach activities for children or youth with parents that do not attend church functions and do not bring children to church activities.
· Provide opportunities for service, evangelism, and missions for youth, involving them in personal enrichment and recreation.
· Invest time and encouragement in students by attending school and community activities and other events in which students are involved.
· Develop and facilitate a healthy relationship between youth and the church as whole to better connect youth as when they leave youth ministry they are already connected and plugged in as an adult.
· Enlist church members' support of the youth by way of prayer and participation in activities or ministries.
· Prepare and submit a budget for youth in conjunction with other ministry leaders.
· Keep the church staff and members informed of programs and activities.
· Keep informed and current on programs, activities, events, and trends that are of interest to the community at large.
· Fulfill all other duties as assigned by the Pastor.
