Job Overview
The Pastor to Students is an elder-qualified man who provides pastoral leadership for BCLR's student ministries. The Pastor to Students will be responsible for planning and leading weekly services for students in grades seven through twelve, preaching and teaching weekly, organizing and training volunteers, and planning and leading events. This includes implementing BCLR's vision and distinctives in student ministry. He also serves the congregation by performing pastoral and shepherding duties.
Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Student Ministry Duties
- Preach and teach to students on Sundays and Wednesdays
- Coordinate Wednesday evening services and the Sunday morning Equipping Hour
- Disciple, counsel, and equip students throughout the week, and equip parents to disciple their children
- Recruit, train, and oversee volunteers and teachers in Student Ministries
- Plan, organize, and lead student events
- Oversee the student ministry budget and resources
- Set, attain, evaluate, and modify short- and long-term goals for the student ministry that align with BCLR's vision
General Pastoral Duties
- Shepherd and disciple the congregation (preach and teach; officiate communion (as requested); officiate baptisms, funerals, and weddings)
- Provide biblical counseling
- Attend Pastoral Staff and Elder Board meetings and retreats
- Participate in Care Groups
- Participate in church-wide events, seminars, retreats, ministries, and conferences
