Job Overview

This position will focus on and provide leadership for middle and high school students, leaders, and their families. This person will oversee weekly meetings, retreats, events, and programs that constitute Immanuel Students, as well as provide some general ministry support for the church at large.

Responsibilities

Prayer and Intercession

• Consistently bring student ministry's vision and purpose before God in prayer.
• Intercede regularly on the behalf of leaders, students, and their families.

Preaching and Teaching

• Proclaim the gospel to unbelievers in individual, small and large group settings
.
• Oversee student small groups, including teaching and the general oversight of the quality and content of volunteer leaders' teaching.
• Regularly teach at weekly student gathering ("Beyond" on Wednesday nights)
.
• Teach and train volunteer leaders at quarterly leader meetings
.
• Regularly teach and oversee the teaching of the Sunday Study ("Donut Church").
• Teach parental seminars, retreats, and other occasional opportunities.

Pastoring and Shepherding

• Open home to students and leaders and be present at schools and sporting events.
• Maintain a lifestyle of discipling students regularly.
• Counsel students, parents, and leaders.
• Mentor students and volunteer leaders regularly.
• Be Christ to our community through service projects and a daily life of benevolence.

Programming and Administration

• Create, organize, and promote outreach and in-reach activities.
• Program weekly student worship time, including order of service, multimedia components, props, and other activities.
• Guide overall vision and ministry direction.
• Create, organize, and oversee yearly calendar.
• Manage daily operations such as mailings, emails, phone calls, social media, etc.

• Organize, promote, and lead various retreats, camps, and mission trips (typically 2 retreats, 2 camps, and 1 mission trip per year).

Support General Ministry

• In the highly fluid environment of a young church, will be available to jump in with any ministry tasks as needed.
• Will view and perform all tasks as ministry.
