Job Description:

The ECPC Student Ministries Summer Intern program exists to train and disciple college aged interns as they assist in forming mature disciples within our student ministry. 2 Timothy 2:2 reminds us that on-going discipleship is essential for the growth of the church and the spreading of the gospel. Summer interns will gain valuable experience and training in the practical "hands on work" of youth ministry as they learn to steward their spiritual gifts and abilities. We are looking for men and women who love God, love His church, and the lost among us.

The Summer Staff is made up of college-aged students/young adults who are committed to Christ and His kingdom initiative by ministering to the youth of East Cobb Presbyterian Church in Marietta, GA. We are looking to hire two high school interns and two middle school interns. Applicants must complete their freshman year of college during the time of their summer internship to qualify, but exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis. As you prayerfully consider a ministry position at ECPC, understand that expectations to fulfill your internship are reasonably high. Being said, this is a full-time commitment. Your schedule is taken with the upmost priority. Flexibility can be made with requests for days off, but those requests are not always guaranteed.

If accepted as a Summer Intern, I agree to the following:

I will be available for the entire summer commitment I subscribe to the "What We Believe" section on the church website (https://www.eastcobbpres.org/believe) and do not take issue with the Westminster Confessions of Faith. (Your position on infant baptism is not a disqualifier and you may talk to Ericson for any other questions or concerns.) My vacation time will be before and/or after my Summer Internship commitment or discussed thoroughly with the Youth Ministry staff to determine my eligibility. As a Summer Intern, I will not participate in any illegal activities and will discourage others from participating in them. I also will abstain from any other activities that may reflect negatively so that there will be no conflict of interest with the youth ministry, college ministry, and church. I authorize you to perform a criminal and/or driving investigation/check.

My signature indicates that I have completed this application to the best of my ability, answering honestly and truthfully, and have read and agreed to the commitment outlined above. If any information changes, I will contact ECPC immediately.

Position Qualifications:

The internship start date is dependent on intern availability but expect a start date on a Sunday the week before Labor Day. This internship will conclude the last week of July. As a full-time position, its recommended that you not work other part-time jobs or take summer classes. You will receive compensation every other week totaling at least $2500 for the summer with extra funds raised by the congregation to bless each intern on their post-summer plans. Free housing is also made available if needed by a church family should you need it, as well as contact expenses for meeting up with students. Decisions on applicants are based upon this completed application (including two references) and an interview process.
