About the Role:
Porter Memorial Baptist Church is seeking a dedicated Student Pastor to lead, disciple, and inspire middle and high school students. Working alongside the Next-Gen Pastor and Next Gen Ministries Team, you will create a safe, vibrant, and gospel-centered environment where students build deep intergenerational connections, mature in their faith, and engage their schools, community, and our world with the gospel.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership, Teaching & Discipleship
- Provide leadership for all Student Ministry programming, activities & events
- Ensure biblical teaching is provided at Student Ministry programming, activities & events
- Support the Student Ministry through personal prayer
- Maintain safe environments for students during all Student Ministry programming, activities & events
- Create a discipleship plan for students engaged in the Student Ministry alongside the Next-Gen Pastor
Relational Ministry & Volunteer Equipping
- Build relationships with students and parents engaged in the Student Ministry.
- Enlist volunteers for Student Ministry programs, activities, and events
- Develop and equip leaders for Student Ministry
- Help identify and provide resources for students and parents
- Seek opportunities to engage students and leaders in local middle and high schools
- Provide (or refer to) biblical counseling for students and parents who inquire
Administration & Strategy
- Work with the Next-Gen Pastor to develop a Student Ministry budget
- Coordinate the Student Ministry calendar with the Next-Gen Pastor and Family Ministries Team
General Church Life & Staff Team
- Participate in personal leadership/spiritual development as approved by the Next-Gen Pastor
- Participate in the family ministry team and all staff regularly scheduled meetings
- Assist in congregational /teaching worship ministry as needed
- Assist in the overall pastoral care ministry of the church
- Be an active member in church life
