1 First Baptist Church Blountville, TN Student (Youth) Pastor Job Description Position Overview First Baptist Church Blountville, a Tennessee Southern Baptist congregation located in the beautiful foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Blountville, Tennessee, is seeking a dedicated and passionate Student Pastor to lead our students by fostering spiritual growth, personal development, and meaningful relationships. This role requires a passionate follower of Jesus who loves people, mentors students, and faithfully shares the gospel. The Student Pastor will lead by example, promoting a Christ-centered vision for the church and outreach, while actively engaging students, parents, and the broader community. This position is salaried and full-time, serving a congregation of 350 active members, which requires the student pastor to be located in the Tri-Cities, TN/ Southwest, VA area. The purpose of First Baptist Church is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ by witnessing to the lost, discipling the saved, ministering to needs, and promoting Christian fellowship. 2 Key Responsibilities ●Lead students in growing their relationship with Jesus through preaching, teaching, worship, and discipleship. ●Required to preach to students, 6th grade through college age, on a weekly basis and will be expected to fill the pulpit in the pastor's absence. ●Present clear, comprehensive messages that are rooted in biblical truth and reflect Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) beliefs. ●Lead, develop, and implement outreach and mission initiatives for students. ●Mentor and invest personally in students, attending extracurricular activities. ●Model sacrificial love by spending time with students beyond scheduled activities. ●Organize and lead student trips and events. ●Build and nurture relationships with students, parents, and the church family. ●Be consistent in prayer, seeking God's will in all aspects of ministry. ●Hold students accountable with compassion and discipline in love. ●Work collaboratively as a team player with church staff and volunteers. ●Be an advocate for the student ministry to the adult congregation and staff.

Desired Characteristics ●Spiritual Leadership: Man of God who loves Jesus, loves people, and shares the gospel. ●Visionary: Has a vision for the student ministry and outreach, mission-orientated, and seeks God's will. ●Theological Integrity: Strong knowledge of the Bible, adheres to SBC beliefs, and delivers preaching that is rooted in God's word. ●Mentor: Invests personally in students and builds authentic connections. ●Compassionate and Passionate: Demonstrates love and empathy, while inspiring enthusiasm in others. ●Relational: Welcoming, easy to talk to, engaging, trustworthy, and relatable; connects well with parents and students. ●Sacrificial: Willing to give time outside of traditional ministry settings. ●Approach: Able to relate to students and maintain a fun, and energetic environment.

3 Qualifications ●Demonstrate love for Jesus and commitment to sharing the gospel. ●Experience in student ministry or working with children/students in a church setting, including preaching the gospel. ●Strong knowledge of the Bible. ●Ability to connect with students and parents. ●Willingness to invest time in students beyond scheduled events and activities. ●Post high school education is preferred.
