Summer Intern: Apple Valley Presbyterian Church

Job Description:

We are looking to have an intern for the summer of 2026. Our minister (John Hartley) and session are interested in being used to help equip and mentor a man interested in gospel ministry. The intern will help with preaching in worship, leading a Sunday school class for adults (topic can be chosen in consultation with minister and session), attending other ministry opportunities such as men's book club, as well as regular session meetings and visitation. He will have regular times of discussion and mentoring with the minister. We anticipate a stipend between $2500 and $4500 per month. (please contact us for more information regarding this range.)

Position Qualifications:

We are seeking a man who is interested in pursuing full time gospel ministry and is in an M.Div. program. He should be fully agreeable with and joyfully embrace the Westminster Standards as well as be in general agreement with the practices and polity of the OPC. He should possess the necessary personal qualities of gospel ministry in accord with Scripture as well as a sincere love for Christ and his church. He should be willing to serve others more than he expects to be served by them. He should be glad to accept the oversight of the mentoring minister and session of the church. He should have a gospel focus to his view of ministry and not have peculiar and idiosyncratic pursuits that detract from the centrality of the cross of Christ for the ministry.
