Job Overview
Prairie Creek Church is seeking an individual to fill our part-time teaching pastor position. We are a non-denominational congregation located in Maquoketa, Iowa, We are a multigenerational church who are committed to: being rooted in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, living in unity with one another, and loving our community and larger world around us. This is a church body who loves to sit under expository preaching.
We are anticipating a 20-hour/week position at this time. This may grow in the future and flexible arrangements will be considered. As a part time position, specific responsibilities will be tailored to the particular candidate's gifts and abilities.
Candidate Profile
- Born-again follower of Jesus
- Meets biblical qualifications of leadership (1 Timothy 3, Titus 1, 1 Peter 5).
- Actively engages in personal Bible study, prayer, and continued desire to learn for their own personal spiritual growth
- Spiritually and emotionally mature with a high level of discernment
- Organized, effective communicator, teachable, and demonstrated desire to authentically care for others
- Able to disciple across generations and socioeconomic backgrounds to develop community and foster relationships
- Ministry experience required (paid or volunteer); Bible college or seminary training preferred
- In agreement with the Prairie Creek Church Statement of Faith
- Authorized to work in the US

Job Description
Anticipated job duties would include:
Primary duties:
- Plan, prepare and deliver an expository-based sermon for the Sunday worship service
- Administer communion and believers baptism
- Coordinate and lead two special services (Christmas Eve and Good Friday)
- Participate in a weekly small group ministry
Secondary duties: (These will be secondary and limited due to part time status)
- Provide pastoral care: relationship building, visitation, and counseling (limited). Requests for funerals or weddings will be discussed based on part time status
- Works alongside the elders and deacons to oversee ministries, church business, benevolence requests, and church budget
