Job Overview
Prairie Creek Church is a non-denominational congregation located in Maquoketa, Iowa in within Jackson County in eastern Iowa. We are a church committed to living as a family of believers, submitting to the teaching of God's Word, publicly living out our faiths, and being an open door to the unchurched. We regularly have non-believers attending. Our congregation loves sitting under expository preaching of the full counsel of God's Word.
A man who is pursuing a virtual MDiv or similar degree and desires to serve part time would also be well suited for our congregation. We welcome new seminary or Bible college graduates to apply. Likewise, men heading towards retirement years would be well suited for this position.
We are anticipating a 20-hour/week position at this time. This may grow in the future and alternative arrangements may be considered. As a part time position, specific responsibilities will be tailored to the particular candidate's gifts and abilities.

Maquoketa is a welcoming Eastern Iowa town with four seasons, outdoor activities, and a safe environment. Jackson County is underserved by Bible-based evangelical churches.

Candidate Profile
Born-again follower of Jesus
Actively engages in personal Bible study and prayer for their own personal spiritual growth
Spiritually mature with a high level of discernment
Committed to Scripture as the infallible Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16).
Meets biblical qualifications of leadership (1 Timothy 3, Titus 1, 1 Peter 5).
Humble, organized, fiscally responsible, and effective in communication.
Able to disciple across generations and socioeconomic background to develop community and foster church maturity
Ministry experience required; Bible college training preferred
In agreement with the Prairie Creek Church Statement of Faith
Duties:
- Plan, schedule, coordinate and prepare weekly congregational worship activities. Two yearly special services (Christmas Eve and Good Friday) are also required
- Perform preaching responsibilities at worship services. Sermons must be Biblically grounded, challenging, and relevant to the church body.
- Along with the elders, administer communion and believers baptisms
- Possess a desire to build relationships and shepherd the church body
- Transition to full time pastoral position could be an outcome depending on future needs of the church
