Role Summary
The Director of Traditional Worship leads and develops the music ministry for Lakeside's traditional worship service. This role plans and directs music that supports congregational singing, leads the choir, and coordinates instrumentalists, all under the direction of the Senior Pastor.
The music of this ministry should reflect the historic Reformed tradition—rooted in Scripture, theologically rich, and supportive of congregational worship.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and lead music for the 8:45 AM traditional worship service
- Select hymns, choral pieces, and service music in alignment with the direction of the Senior Pastor
- Coordinate music for special services, including Christmas, Maundy Thursday, and Easter
- Rehearse and direct the choir (weekly Wednesday night rehearsals)
- Recruit and develop choir members toward musical and spiritual growth
- Prepare music that is theologically sound and appropriate for worship
- Lead and coordinate instrumentalists and ensembles throughout the year
- Utilize and develop musicians within the congregation and coordinate additional musicians as needed
- Oversee the Traditional Worship budget and music library
- Schedule accompanists and musicians for rehearsals and services
- Provide weekly order of worship details to staff and update music resources as needed

Schedule & Time Expectations
- Approximately 15 hours per week
- Wednesday evening rehearsals
- Sunday morning leadership at the 8:45 AM service
- Weekly staff meeting (Mondays at 3:00 PM)
