Worship Director

Job Overview

The Worship Director at Christ Central Church provides spiritual, musical, and organizational leadership for a multi-cultural worship ministry. This role involves developing and forming the worship community, directing the band and vocals, and executing music for Sunday morning worship services and additional programs. This person will collaborate with pastors to integrate liturgy and music.

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Senior Pastor and/or preaching pastor to align worship with liturgy, weekly themes, and liturgical calendar.
• Reflect the congregation's cultural and generational diversity by incorporating a mix of hymns, contemporary Christian worship, and gospel songs.
• Recruit, develop, and shepherd a worship team—a mix of paid professionals and volunteers.
• Manage scheduling, rehearsals, and basic administrative functions (Planning Center, chord charts, etc.)
• Plan and execute other music-oriented events, such as Advent Concerts, worship nights, etc.
• Explore creative ideas from online worship content to songwriting, worship in the city, etc.
• Participate in staff life – weekly meetings, devotionals, prayer, etc.

Qualifications

• A sinner saved by grace.
• Exemplary character as exhibited in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
• Passionate about the vision and mission of Christ Central Church.
• Membership at Christ Central Church (a requirement, though not a prerequisite).
• Accepting and excited about our staff values – Christ dependency, growth is the norm, forward thinking, collaboration, overcommunication, humility, attention to detail, and kindness.
• Ability to cultivate strong team dynamics and manage team members.
• Ability to arrange and teach vocals and give band direction.
• Cultural sensitivity and experience in diverse worship environments.
• Proficient in at least one instrument (piano is a plus).
• Musical ability to lead with excellence from the stage.
• Collaborative, flexible, and servant-hearted leadership style.
• A strong gift for leadership and willingness to lead others.
