Worship Director: Christ Central of Southern California

Job Description:

The Worship Director will lead Worship and Worship Operations ministries ("Worship Ministries") and provide general support for the Pastoral Staff. This position is up to 40 hours per week (based on candidate's availability). RESPONSIBILITIES Musical Responsibilities ● Coordinate and lead Sunday morning and special worship services ● Select, arrange, and prepare songs and relevant media for worship teams ● Organize practices and training for instrumentalists and vocalists ● Facilitate musical development and skills training as needed for worship team members ● Coordinate the Worship Production Team for the set-up of all equipment for rehearsals and services ● Ensure worship technology and equipment is up to date, in working order, and well organized Pastoral Responsibilities ● Counsel and guide the Worship Ministries to create and nurture a culture of worship ● Identify, train, and disciple volunteers for Worship Ministries Administrative Responsibilities ● Lead the worship team in determining music ministry goals, organization, leadership, facilities, finances, and administrative processes ● Serve as primary liaison between Worship Ministries and Staff, Session, other ministries ● Attend weekly and monthly staff meetings, directly reporting to the Senior Pastor and Session ● Oversee and manage Worship Ministries budgets

Position Qualifications:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. o At least 3 years experience leading a congregation in worship and overseeing a worship ministry o Demonstrate proficiency in musical knowledge and skill, specifically in singing, the playing of (at least) piano and/or guitar, and the comprehension of musical theory 1 o Can wisely discern the lyrics of worship songs and evaluate their adherence to biblical truth o Experience with ProPresenter, Planning Center, and worship tech (sound, lighting, AV tech) o Graduate of an accredited seminary institution a plus o A sense of God's calling as well as commitment and compatibility with the ministry of Christ Central and its local area o Full support of family if applicable o Excellent interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills to work alongside staff, other ministry leaders, volunteers, and members o Theological distinctives o Personal theological beliefs aligned with Christ Central's Statement of Beliefs o Supports the theological vision and teaching of our church o Gospel values ▪ Knows how to encourage and love others through the gospel ▪ Understand the importance of gospel leadership o Adheres to Christ Central's philosophy of ministry (for discussion with Senior Pastor)
