As our church continues to grow, we are seeking a Worship Director who will lead our worship ministry while serving as a key ministry leader within the life of the church.

Position Summary
The Worship Director serves as a key member of the King's Church staff team, providing leadership to the worship ministry while contributing to the broader discipleship and ministry life of the church. This role is primarily responsible for cultivating a Christ-centered, congregational worship ministry, overseeing the church's production and technical teams, developing volunteers, and serving as a ministry leader through discipleship, shepherding, and church-wide ministry initiatives.
This position is a full-time ministry role averaging 40+ hours per week, with consistent Sunday availability serving as a primary expectation. Because the role is closely tied to the weekly gathering and volunteer leadership, Sundays are a ministry priority, and regular attendance is expected except during approved time away.
The ideal candidate is a spiritually mature leader who loves the local church, has a passion for congregational worship, enjoys developing leaders, and desires to help people know, love, and follow Jesus Christ.
Job Description
Primary Responsibilities
Worship Ministry Leadership (60–70%)
- Provide overall vision, leadership, and direction for the worship ministry.
- Plan and lead weekly worship gatherings in collaboration with the pastoral team.
- Select songs, shape service flow, and ensure theological alignment with King's Church's doctrine and philosophy of worship.
- Recruit, train, schedule, and shepherd worship ministry volunteers.
- Develop musicians and worship leaders through coaching, discipleship, and regular feedback.
- Lead weekly rehearsals and ensure excellence in preparation for Sunday gatherings.
- Build and maintain a healthy volunteer culture marked by humility, service, spiritual maturity, and joy.
- Oversee worship ministry systems, communication, and scheduling.
Production & Technical Oversight
- Provide oversight and leadership to the Tech Production Coordinator and production volunteer teams.
- Ensure excellence and consistency in audio, lighting, livestream, presentation, and production systems.
- Collaborate with the Tech Production Coordinator to maintain equipment, inventory, and technical infrastructure.
- Help establish and implement long-term strategies for production ministry growth and volunteer development.
- Ensure worship and production ministries function cohesively to support meaningful and distraction-free corporate worship.
Broader Ministry Leadership
As a member of the ministry staff, the Worship Director will contribute to the overall discipleship and ministry life of King's Church beyond the worship ministry. These responsibilities complement the primary calling of leading worship and may develop over time as the needs of the church continue to grow.
Men's Ministry
- Provide vision, leadership, and oversight for the men's ministry of King's Church.
- Recruit, train, and develop a volunteer leadership team.
- Organize and oversee men's discipleship initiatives, gatherings, and events.
- Identify, equip, and encourage future male leaders within the life of the church.
- Help cultivate a culture of biblical discipleship, spiritual growth, and leadership among the men of King's Church.
Discipleship & Shepherding
- Assist the pastors in shepherding members and attendees through discipleship relationships, pastoral care, and ministry involvement.
- Participate in membership, leadership development, and discipleship initiatives as needed.
- Serve in small group leadership and help develop future small group leaders.
- Help foster a culture of discipleship, spiritual maturity, and meaningful church involvement.
Church-Wide Ministry Support
- Assist with the planning and execution of King's Church REC, creating meaningful opportunities for fellowship, outreach, connection, and community-building both within the church and among those exploring King's Church.
- Recruit, coordinate, and support volunteer teams responsible for REC ministry events throughout the year.
- Partner with staff and ministry leaders to ensure church-wide events are organized, welcoming, effective, and aligned with the mission and vision of King's Church.
- Support church-wide events, retreats, conferences, leadership gatherings, and ministry initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
Spiritual Qualifications
- Meets the biblical character qualifications outlined in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
- Demonstrates a growing and vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Fully supports and models the doctrine, mission, vision, and values of King's Church.
- Committed to meaningful membership and active participation in the life of the church.
- Demonstrates a heart for discipleship, servant leadership, and developing others.
Experience & Skills
- Experience leading congregational worship in a local church context.
- Strong vocal and instrumental proficiency.
- Experience recruiting, training, and leading volunteer teams.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple ministry areas simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience with worship technology, production systems, ProPresenter, Planning Center, livestream, and audio/lighting environments preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to disciple, shepherd, and develop leaders.
- Experience teaching in church, small group, or discipleship settings is preferred.
- Seminary education or equivalent theological training preferred.
