Position Summary
The Worship Director provides spiritual, musical, and administrative leadership for the corporate worship life of Southside Bible Church. This includes oversight of the worship team and the AVL (audio, video, lighting) team.
He will work closely with the pastors and elders to ensure that all aspects of gathered worship are biblically faithful, theologically rich, and congregationally engaging.
This role requires a mature, godly man who meets the character qualifications for spiritual leadership described in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1. He must be musically skilled and organizationally capable, able to recruit, disciple, and lead volunteers while cultivating a culture of reverent, Christ-exalting worship.

Southside Bible Church is a growing, multi-generational, non-denominational fellowship located in Centennial, Colorado, a southeastern suburb of Denver. Founded in 1998, the church currently has approximately 400 in weekly attendance.
The church is served by three staff pastor/elders, six lay pastor/elders, ten deacons, and three support staff members.
Southside also operates a growing classical academy for school-age children and a two-year ministry training program for men pursuing full-time ministry. The church has planted two congregations and currently supports several missionaries around the world.

Corporate worship at Southside Bible Church is centered on the glory of God and the proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Musical worship is intended to support and reinforce the preaching of the Word by encouraging congregational participation, theological depth, and reverent joy.

Education and Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in a music-related field from an accredited institution preferred
-
Minimum of two years of experience leading worship teams, volunteers, or similar ministries
-
Vocal leadership required; instrumental proficiency (guitar or piano) preferred
-
Working knowledge of basic music theory
-
Basic AVL experience preferred (sound, lighting, video)

Strong verbal and written communication skills
-
Organized, dependable, and able to meet deadlines
-
Proficient, or willing to be trained, in worship planning software, sound equipment, and livestreaming tools
Responsibilities
The Worship Director is responsible for the coordination, planning, and leadership of music-related ministries at Southside Bible Church.
While the primary focus is the Sunday worship service, responsibilities may also include special services, seasonal events, and other music-related ministry opportunities. Attendance at scheduled church leadership meetings is expected.

Collaborate with elders and staff to ensure worship aligns with the church’s mission and theology
Worship Planning and Leadership

Plan and lead weekly corporate worship services in coordination with church leadership

Select songs that are biblically sound, gospel-centered, and accessible for congregational singing

Incorporate Scripture readings, prayers, and musical elements that support the preaching of God’s Word

Lead weekly rehearsals for musicians and AVL volunteers
-
Maintain a balanced worship expression that includes both historic hymns and contemporary songs

Actively cultivate strong congregational singing rather than performance-centered worship

Ensure worship intentionally supports and prepares the congregation for the preaching of the Word
Musical Leadership

Lead rehearsals with clarity, humility, and musical excellence

Arrange music as needed to best serve congregational singing

Provide vocal leadership for the congregation

Instrumental leadership is strongly preferred
Administrative Oversight

Maintain service plans, volunteer schedules, and ministry communication

Train and oversee worship-related technology teams

Manage worship ministry budget and resources with stewardship and transparency

Compensation and Benefits
Salary range: $75,000–$105,000
Compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and financial need. The position includes participation in the church’s medical sharing program and matching retirement contributions.
