Christiansburg Baptist Church seeks to equip individuals to believe, live, and share the Gospel of Christ for the glory of God. We serve with one source of authority (Scripture), one manner of living (love), and one purpose for being (to minister the gift of the Gospel). As such, we are seeking a passionate and gifted individual to direct our worship ministry.
CBC is a multi-generational church comprised of a broad range of ages and backgrounds. As such, our worship style would be described as blended leaning contemporary. While being mindful of the impact style has on one's experience of worship; we believe that worship exists to please God above all.
The Worship Leader will lead our congregation into authentic, Christ-centered worship during our Sunday morning worship services. He/she will lead an established team of approximately 6 to 8 gifted musicians and vocalists. Since we view our call to serve our community as a very serious matter, the Worship Leader should be prepared to give his/her very best while challenging their team to do the same. This person will help equip attendees to develop a habit of personal worship engagement inside and outside the Sunday morning service.
Job Description
In accordance with Scripture and in keeping with CBC's mission and core values, the Worship Leader will:
- lead all aspects of planning and performance of the Sunday morning worship service;
- organize and lead weekly practices that lay the foundation for a compelling and quality worship experience;
- assume care and discipleship of the worship team and musicians;
- recruit and develop the spiritual gifts of instrumentalists and vocalists;
- lead the congregation in blended-style worship incorporating music that speaks the heart language of a cross-generational church;
- coordinate with the media team to ensure that the quality of the in-person and online worship experiences aligns with our belief that God deserves our very best;
- arrange for appropriate leadership in their absence;
The Worship Leader will work with the Elders and other church leaders to:
- coordinate visuals, signage, media, and branding;
- promote regular worship experiences and special events;
- ensure online presence reflects our commitment to quality.
