1 First Baptist Church, Prosper, TX www.fbcprosper.org Worship Leader – Job Description – Part Time Position The worship leader is responsible for the development, management, and oversight of all music and programming for worship services and events at First Baptist Prosper, to the glory of God. To be successful as the worship leader at First Baptist Prosper, one should have a passion and proficiency for music, the ability to lead small and large groups in praise to God, and have the vision to guide musicians, vocalists, Audio and Visual Team members, and other volunteers to conduct worship services that glorify God. This position will report directly to and work closely with the Senior Pastor to create a unifying message in alignment with the doctrine, goals, and strategies of First Baptist Prosper. Qualifications • Embody the Biblical qualifications of a Pastor/Elder (1 Tim. 3:1-7; Tit. 1:6-9; 1 Pet. 5:1-5) • Hold a bachelor's degree or master's degree in a theological discipline or musicrelated or worship-related field, OR 3 years' experience effectively leading worship ministries in a local church setting. • Demonstrate familiarity with music written and published by sources such as Getty Music, Sovereign Grace Music, CityAlight, Matt Boswell and Matt Papa, The Worship Initiative, Indelible Grace, and similar sources. • Become a member and be in complete agreement with the priorities of First Baptist Church of Prosper and the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. • Be a spiritually mature believer with an active, evident, and maturing relationship with Jesus Christ and a thorough knowledge of the Bible. • Demonstrate a love for God's Word and God's people with a sound understanding of Biblical doctrine and practice. • Live and teach a lifestyle of adherence to biblical standards of morality, ethics, and the fruit of the Spirit. • Display genuine humility, teachability and receptivity to guidance, correction, and direction. • Must be willing to be a team player and work under the leadership of the Senior Pastor and Elders. • Demonstrate servant leadership. • Demonstrate excellence in public communication skills. • Demonstrate a strong work ethic, including timeliness, taking initiative, consistently fulfilling responsibilities, taking personal responsibility for tasks, and honoring deadlines. 2 • Have a proven track record of committed, compassionate, and effective oversight, discipleship, and shepherding of those under their care. • Must have a heart to lead and teach others concerning biblical worship. • Demonstrate the ability to start, build, organize, and manage a ministry team. • Possess administrative skills that demonstrate the ability to organize, plan, communicate, and collaborate well. • Be able to maintain a cross-ministry perspective and work collaboratively on strategic planning and priorities. • Have the ability to share ministry with and assist volunteers, staff, pastors, and/or Elders and Deacons as part of a ministry team. • Possess strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate well to others from diverse cultural and family backgrounds. • Have the ability to keep confidences, and effectively demonstrate the ability to use appropriate judgment, discretion, sensitivity, and confidentiality when working with others. • Above all, pursue a personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ, including maintaining a focus on your family, personal health, personal finances, and personal spiritual growth.

Job Description

Responsibilities • Work alongside the Senior Pastor to plan weekly worship services and worship aspects of other occasional events and ensure that the elements of worship communicate the Gospel and, ideally, are in alignment with the sermon emphasis. • Participate in the life and ministry of the church, including Community Groups. • Must attend weekly staff meetings. • Oversee all music and programming of First Baptist Prosper worship services. • Strategically plan, manage, and utilize the worship ministry budget. • Recruit, equip, motivate, supervise and shepherd music team leaders, musicians, and A/V tech team. • Plan and coordinate worship practice at least once a week prior to Sunday worship. • Recruit and mentor a team of other worship leaders as church and worship ministry grows. • Develop musicians for more excellent service as they lead our church family in worship. • Ensure that all A/V equipment, lighting, and ProPresenter slides are functional and prepared for worship services. • Fulfill other assigned duties by the pastoral staff.
