Job Overview
Gospel Collective Church is seeking a full-time Worship Leader to help lead our church in gospel-centered, God-glorifying worship as we seek to fulfill our mission in glorifying God, loving our neighbors, and making disciples who make disciples. We are looking for a leader who values congregational singing, treasures the richness of historic hymns and modern hymns, and can thoughtfully incorporate Scripture, prayer, and other elements of biblical liturgy into our corporate worship. At the same time, we believe technology and media can be valuable tools for serving the church, and we desire to use them creatively and excellently without allowing them to overshadow the purposes of corporate worship.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must model a deep commitment to Jesus and His mission.
- Must agree with the Baptist Faith and Message, 2000.
- Must be committed to GCC's doctrine, Mission, Vision, and Core Values.
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of biblical worship and the role of corporate worship in the life of the church.
- Demonstrates strong musical ability and experience leading congregational worship.
- Demonstrates the ability to recruit, develop, shepherd, and lead volunteers.
- Demonstrates strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Must be comfortable working with technology and media and willing to continually develop skills in emerging media and communication tools.
- Experience with Planning Center and church worship/media systems is preferred.
- Demonstrates a heart for discipleship, evangelism, community, and the mission of GCC.
DETAILS
- Full time position.
- Reports to the Lead Pastor.
- Works collaboratively with the GCC staff and ministry leaders.
- Specific weekly schedule, office hours, and expectations will be established in coordination with the Lead Pastor.
- Salary and benefits will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and the church's established compensation structure.
Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES
Worship Leadership & Shepherding
- Serve as a shepherd in the broader context of GCC.
- Lead GCC in musical worship through personal performance and leadership.
- Cultivate a culture of gospel centered, God glorifying worship that extends beyond Sunday mornings into the everyday lives of our church family.
- Recruit, equip, develop, encourage, and care for members of the worship and media teams.
- Develop current and future worship leaders, musicians, vocalists, and media volunteers through intentional discipleship, training, and leadership development.
Sunday Services & Planning
- Partner with the Lead Pastor in designing and planning weekly Sunday services that faithfully communicate the Gospel, encourage corporate singing, and lead people toward worship of God.
- Direct the overall experience of Sunday services, from the facility environment and stage presentation to the musical and media elements of the service.
- Help select and arrange songs that are in alignment with the Scripture, sermons, liturgy, and the biblical theme and direction of each service.
- Coordinate rehearsals/practice and prepare worship teams to lead with musical excellence, spiritual maturity, and unity.
- Work closely with the lead pastor and ministry leaders to incorporate Scripture readings, liturgy, prayer, announcements, testimonies, baptisms, communion, special services, and other elements into corporate worship.
- Utilize Planning Center to plan services, schedule volunteers, communicate with teams, organize music and service elements, and maintain an effective worship ministry workflow.
Media & Communications
- Provide leadership and vision for GCC's media ministry as an integral part of the church's communication and discipleship strategy.
- Oversee the planning and execution of media elements for Sunday services, including presentation, slides, video, lighting, sound, livestream, and other relevant technologies.
- Lead and develop the volunteers serving in sound, lighting, presentation, video, livestream, and other media roles.
- Help GCC communicate its mission, vision, ministries, events, and Gospel centered message effectively through digital and visual media.
- Partner with the Lead Pastor and other staff to develop and coordinate communication content for Sunday services, churchwide events, announcements, and other ministry initiatives.
- Help maintain consistency and excellence in GCC's visual and digital communication across platforms.
- Oversee and manage media and arts equipment, resources, technology, and finances in coordination with the church's overall budget and priorities.
Ministry Leadership
- Resource GCC staff and ministry leaders as they implement worship and media in their programs and ministries.
- Work collaboratively with the Lead Pastor and other staff to ensure worship and media support the overall mission and ministry priorities of GCC.
- Develop systems, processes, and volunteer structures that allow the worship and media ministries to function effectively and sustainably as GCC grows.
- Evaluate and improve worship, media, and communication practices while remaining rooted in GCC's theological convictions, mission, and values.
- Participate actively in the broader life of GCC, including staff meetings, ministry events, churchwide gatherings, and other responsibilities appropriate to the role.
- Has potential to be a future elder at the church if meeting qualifications listed in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.
Hispanic Church Partnership
- Partner with the Hispanic church that regularly meets at GCC by providing support and leadership as needed in worship, sound, media, and other technical or service-related needs.
- Build a collaborative relationship with the Hispanic church's pastor and ministry leaders, seeking opportunities to serve, encourage, and strengthen their ministry while respecting their unique language, culture, and ministry context.
