Rosemont Baptist Church of Lexington, KY is a growing, multi-generational, faith-based community of believers who are dedicated to glorifying God by impacting Lexington through seeking, serving, and sharing Jesus Christ. We are prayerfully seeking a spiritually-strong, musically talented, passionate, and driven Worship Leader to join our team and church family; to partner with our Lead Pastor in creating a gospel-centered, Spirit-led worship experience that both engages the congregation and aids believers in becoming mature disciples in Christ Jesus. Responsibilities include leading worship services, overseeing both the worship team and the choir, and working together with other church staff members. The ideal candidate will have music, ministry, and leadership experience to aid us in our transition to a more modern/blended worship style, while still utilizing our choir and the singing of traditional hymns.

Responsibilities and Expectations

Provide support to the Lead Pastor in all areas of ministry, including but not limited to:

(1) Create, cast, and implement a vision for the church's music ministry program that aligns with the Lead Pastor's overall vision for the church, and then provide leadership and oversight toward said vision.

(2) Partnering with the Lead Pastor in both planning and preparing all Sunday morning services, seasonal events, and special events and occasions, and curating the elements and flow of these services/events (welcome, prayer, Scripture reading, singing, etc.).

(3) Shepherding and leading the worship team (vocalists, musicians, and audio/visual team) and the choir in leading the congregation in vocal worship. This shall include:

• Serve as the vocal (singing) leader of the church's worship team and the ability to lead musical worship with at least one instrument (guitar or piano preferred).
• Select music that aligns with the week's sermon and is biblically/theologically accurate, blending together both traditional hymns with contemporary and modern musical selections, which encourages the congregation to worship in "spirit and in truth" (John 4:24).
• Prepare and distribute musical worship materials (charts, transitions, etc.) to the choir/worship team for the planned and special services.
• Promoting, recruiting, training, scheduling, communicating, and overseeing both the church's choir and worship team (both vocalists and musicians).
• Organize practices and rehearsals for both the choir, worship team, and the worship band.
• Recruiting, training, scheduling, communicating, and overseeing volunteer members of the church in serving on the audio/visual team (ProPresenter, online worship service streaming, and the sound system).
• Supervise and maintain additions to the church's music library, as well as the appropriate licenses on both the music and media utilized by the church.
• Ensure the proper function, quality, and upkeep/maintenance of church instruments, lighting (when new system is in place), sound and equipment, video(s) (if applicable), slides, and live stream.

(4) Staying current with current trends in Church worship and technology and oversee the implementation of various transitions/changes as needed.

(5) Assist other ministries (children, youth, collegiate, senior adult, etc.) with their worship components.

(6) In conjunction with the Lead Pastor and the Pastor of Youth and Families, oversee the church's online presence, social media context, website updates, and create/coordinate multimedia context (sermon graphics, promotional and testimonial videos, sermon clips, and worship slides).

(7) Submit and oversee the music ministry budget as approved by the Leadership Team.

(8) Other responsibilities as assigned by the Lead Pastor as needed, according to gifts.

Qualifications

• A strong, vibrant, intimate, and mature relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
• Aligns with the Baptist Faith and Message (BF&M) 2000, as their doctrinal statement.
• A skilled musician able to read music and both vocally and instrumentally (guitar or piano preferred) the worship ministries (worship team and choir) of the church.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of various Christian worship music genres (traditional and modern hymns, contemporary, modern, southern gospel, and multicultural).
• Proficiency with Planning Center, ProPresenter, and other worship technologies needed to plan, lead, record, and live stream worship.
• A team player and team builder and leader who is both teachable and seeks to equip and invests in others.
• Musical / Theological education preferred.
• Worship and/or choir leadership experience preferred but not required.
