Worship Minister
Position Summary
The worship minister serves a smaller, close-knit congregation by leading Christ-centered, congregational worship and helping cultivate a culture of participation, unity, and spiritual growth. This role is focused not on-stage performance, but on encouraging the congregation to sing, pray, and respond to God's Word together.

Primary Responsibilities
Lead Weekly Worship
- Plan and lead Sunday worship in coordination with the lead pastor and elders.
- Select songs that are biblically faithful and accessible for congregational singing.
- Perform songs in the customary stylistic manner familiar to most Christians.
- Lead in a way that encourages participation across all ages and backgrounds.
Build and Lead a Volunteer Team
- Recruit, develop, and lead musicians and vocalists from within the church body.
- Lead one weekly rehearsal (or as needed).
- Recruit, develop, and lead a volunteer team for the tech/sound booth from within the church body.
Simple Service Planning & Coordination
- Work closely with the elders to align music with sermon themes.
- Organize song keys, arrangements, and flow (keeping things simple and repeatable).
- Communicate weekly plans to volunteers (musicians, slides, sound).
- Steward Worship Resources
- Maintain a simple, sustainable song library (introducing new songs wisely).
- Help oversee basic sound and presentation needs (with volunteers).
- Ensure licensing compliance (e.g., CCLI).
Qualifications
Spiritual
- A clear and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
- A life marked by humility, faithfulness, and biblical character.
- Agreement with the church's doctrine and mission.
- Humility to submit to elder guidance in matters concerning worship.
Musical
- Ability to lead singing while playing guitar or piano.
- Competent vocally and musically.
- Able to lead with or without a full band.
- Personal / Leadership
- Relational, approachable, and team-oriented.
- Self-motivated and dependable.
- Teachable and willing to grow.
Expectations
- Church membership, and active participation in the life of the church.
- Weekly Sunday leadership and rehearsal preparation.
- Commitment to simplicity, consistency, and congregational engagement.
Compensation
- Part-time, salary range $20k-$25k per year dependent on experience and qualifications.
