ABOUT NEW HEIGHTS

New Heights Community Church is a non-denominational evangelical church in Northwest Arkansas, one of the fastest-growing regions in the country. We were planted in 2013 and have grown to 800+ people on Sunday. We exist to make disciples who love God passionately and love people tangibly.

We preach expositionally, hold to traditional evangelical theology, and depend on the Holy Spirit. We gather as a whole church on Sunday and in community groups during the week. We are in a season of growth, including a new building opening in 2027.

HOW WE WORSHIP

Worship is our ultimate vocation as believers. We were made to glorify God and enjoy Him, and we will do it forever.

The Holy Spirit stirs worship and affection for God in His people. He is involved in our worship planning and in the moment of worship, and we want to be tuned in to Him in both. We plan with care. When the Spirit is leading, we are willing to set the plan aside.

We long to see a movement of passionate worship among our people. We welcome sincere, expressive worship that is orderly and tested by Scripture.

WHY THIS ROLE EXISTS

What a church sings shapes what a church believes.

Every week, hundreds of people gather to sing the truth about God to God and to one another. They need a leader who leads that singing with conviction, knows the people, and builds a team. You will lead our congregation in worship, shepherd the people who lead with you, and raise up worship leaders and musicians so our church grows in worship gifts.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Lead Worship

  • Lead worship on Sundays and schedule other worship leaders for the remaining Sundays you aren't leading
  • Plan services weekly with the worship planning team so every element serves the text and the sermon
  • Seek the Spirit's leading in planning and stay attentive to Him in the moment of worship
  • Plan the full service flow, including Scripture reading, prayer, confession, the Lord's Supper, and baptism
  • Choose songs that are biblically faithful, centered on Christ, and singable for the congregation
  • Plan and lead worship for Christmas Eve, Easter, baptisms, vision nights, and other gatherings

Shepherd the Worship Team

  • Know, pray for, and care for every musician, vocalist, and production volunteer
  • Lead Thursday rehearsal with Scripture and prayer before music
  • Oversee pastoral care for people in the worship ministry
  • Model a life of repentance, humility, and joy in Jesus on and off the platform

Recruit and Develop Leaders

  • Recruit, audition, and train musicians, vocalists, and production volunteers
  • Fully staff every worship and production team with trained, scheduled people
  • Identify and develop new worship leaders from within the church for other ministry gatherings, including students, men's, women's, etc.
  • Help other ministries develop worship leaders as needed

Direct Sunday Production

  • Supervise the AVL Coordinator and oversee sound, lighting, live stream, and ProPresenter
  • Own the Sunday worship environment from soundcheck to the final song
  • Steward the worship and production budget

Prepare for the New Building

  • Partner with the Executive Pastor and AVL Coordinator on audio, video, stage design, and workflow for our new building, now under construction
  • Recruit and train the worship and production volunteers needed for launch

  • Regular worship planning with the Lead Pastor
  • A real budget and the authority to spend it
  • Access to our pastoral staff for personal care
  • Salary and Benefits
  • The opportunity to lead worship as our church opens a new building

WHO YOU ARE

  • You love Jesus more than music, and your life shows it
  • You sense a call from God to lead and shepherd people in worship
  • You lead from the front, with the vocal and instrumental strength to lead a room of 800+
  • You know why a song says what it says, and you can tell a faithful lyric from a vague one
  • You hold to the authority of Scripture and stay sensitive to the Holy Spirit
  • You build teams, and people say yes when you ask
  • You take correction well and keep learning
  • You are organized, and schedules, sets, and details do not slip
  • You have a heart for people who are far from God

REQUIREMENTS

  • If married, a healthy marriage and home life
  • Adherence to our staff conduct policies, including appropriate boundaries with staff, team members, and volunteers
  • Covenant membership at New Heights within 90 days of hire, and ongoing participation in a community group
