For God's glory Legacy Church is a family of disciples who magnify and multiply the gospel of Jesus Christ through Bellingham to Whatcom County and the ends of the earth.

Legacy Church is seeking someone to join our team who is passionate about advancing the great commission through corporate worship in the local church. The Worship Ministry Intern, who will work alongside Lead Pastor Brian MacSwan, will join Legacy Church with a primary focus on the corporate worship aspect of our mission through music, liturgy, and discipleship.

Position Requirements

• A vital and active relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ
• Actively seeking to live out the character qualifications of an deacon as taught in the Scriptures (1 Timothy 3.8-13)
• Passionate about leading worship with an emphasis on congregational singing
• Commitment to theological development together with a passion for evangelism, spiritual formation, and authenticity
• Demonstrated competency as a musician and singer
• Commitment to developing in the craft as a musician, singer, worship leader
• A desire to grow as a disciple making disciple of Christ
• A collaborative spirit and a growth mindset

Position Responsibilities

• Participate with alongside of the pastors, ministry leaders, and staff in executing Legacy Church's shared vision
• Participate in the planning and leading of Sunday worship services
• Meet regularly with worship ministry mentor to develop the craft
• Meet regularly with the lead pastor for personal discipleship and ministry development
• Participate in monthly service planning meetings
• Coordinate and lead worship at Legacy Church

Intended Outcomes (will be customized to individual)

• Character – grow in Christ-like character and confidence through Christ-centered identity
• Comprehension – articulate a basic biblical theology, systematic theology, and philosophy of ministry demonstrated in written personal doctrinal statement and philosophy of worship
• Comprehension – broaden experience and perspective of corporate worship
• Craft – develop musically as a singer, songwriter, overall as musician
• Craft – develop skills to plan, communicate, and lead teams toward a shared vision

Hours & Compensation

The Worship Ministry Internship is an approximately 8 hour per week position receiving a $800 per month stipend and is a one year commitment.
