Position Type: Part-Time (~10 hours/week)

Compensation: $1,500/month

Position Overview

Belvedere Baptist Church is seeking a part-time Worship Pastor to lead and cultivate the worship ministry of our church. The ideal candidate is a gifted musician and vocalist with a heart for Christ-centered, theologically rich, and multigenerational worship. This individual will be responsible for planning and leading our Sunday worship services, developing our team of volunteer musicians and vocalists, and fostering a culture of worship that is both deeply reverent and accessible to all.

For 65 years, Belvedere Baptist Church has been a faithful gospel presence in our community. We are a Southern Baptist church with a blended worship style that incorporates both contemporary songs and modern arrangements of traditional hymns. We are a growing congregation of 80-100 people, and with the recent appointment of a new Senior Pastor, we are entering an exciting season of fresh vision and direction. Our mission is to be a healthy, gospel-centered community that reaches and disciples people for the glory of God in West Palm Beach and the nations. We are committed to creating a worship environment that is Christ-centered, gospel-focused, theologically sound, and welcoming to people of all ages and backgrounds, especially younger families and individuals.

Key Responsibilities

• Worship Leadership: Plan and lead the musical portion of our Sunday worship services, fostering a vibrant and engaging worship experience.

• Song Selection: Select a thoughtful blend of contemporary worship songs and hymns in a modern arrangements.

• Team Development: Recruit, train, and mentor a team of volunteer musicians and vocalists, providing both musical and spiritual leadership.

• Technical Oversight: Oversee the sound and media teams, ensuring a high standard of excellence in our audio and visual presentation. This includes coordinating lyric slides and other media elements for the worship service.

• Special Events: Plan and lead worship for special events and services, such as Christmas, Easter, and prayer nights.

• Administrative Duties: Utilize Planning Center, Worship Tools, and ProPresenter to organize and coordinate all aspects of the worship ministry.

Qualifications

• Spiritual Maturity: A mature and growing relationship with Jesus Christ, with a character that reflects the qualifications for leadership outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.

• Musical Proficiency: A gifted vocalist with the ability to lead worship from either guitar or keyboard.

• Worship Leading Experience: A minimum of two years of experience leading congregational worship.

• Theological Alignment: Agreement with the mission, vision, and doctrinal distinctives of Belvedere Baptist Church. Willingness to become a member of the church.

• Team Player: A humble and teachable spirit, with a passion for collaborating with others and equipping the saints for the work of ministry.
