Position Summary

Calvary Baptist Church is seeking a full-time Worship Pastor to lead and shepherd our worship ministry in a manner that is biblically grounded, Christ-centered, and aligned with the mission and vision of our church. This role provides leadership for congregational worship through service planning, musical leadership, volunteer development, and collaboration with the Senior Pastor.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and lead congregationally engaging worship services in coordination with the Senior Pastor that support the overall theme and preaching.
• Cultivate a Christ-honoring worship culture that encourages spiritual growth and is marked by humility and authenticity.
• Recruit, train, and shepherd volunteer musicians and audio/visual team members.
• Encourage and develop participation of youth and children in the worship ministry.
• Prepare song lists, charts, lyrics, and media for weekly rehearsals and services; conduct weekly rehearsals.
• Lead worship for Sunday morning and evening services and coordinate music for additional services (holidays, weddings, funerals) as needed.
• Oversee the church's online service presentation to ensure clarity, quality, and a welcoming experience for those joining remotely.
• Maintain the church's music library and worship resources.
• Work with audio/visual team to present quality services.
• Additional responsibilities assigned based on the individual's gifts and the evolving needs of the church.

Qualifications

• Strong personal walk with Christ and agreement with the current Baptist Faith & Message.
• Meets the biblical qualifications for pastoral leadership (1 Timothy 3:1–7; Titus 1:6–9).
• Commitment to the mission and vision of Calvary Baptist Church.
• Ability to lead congregational worship vocally ; instrumental proficiency is a plus
• Experience leading worship in a blended church context.
• Ability to disciple, mentor, and develop worship ministry volunteers.
• Working knowledge of audio mixing, presentation software, and worship planning tools (e.g., Planning Center or similar platforms).
• Bachelor's degree or ministry training in the area of worship; equivalent ministry experience considered.
