Role SummaryCelebration Church is seeking a mature, theologically grounded Worship Pastor who is called to shepherd God's people through congregational singing and musical leadership. At Celebration Church, we believe worship shapes theology, forms disciples, and teaches the church to sing the truth. This role is not about performance, platform, or personal expression, but about pastoring people through song for the glory of God and the good of His church.

The Worship Pastor will provide spiritual leadership, theological clarity, and musical direction for the church, cultivating a culture of Christ-centered, congregational worship that spans generations and styles.

Core ResponsibilitiesPastoral & Theological Leadership● Shepherd the congregation through biblically faithful, Christ-exalting worship services.

● Approach worship leadership as a pastoral calling, caring for the spiritual formation of the church through song, prayer, and Scripture.

● Ensure all music and liturgical elements are theologically sound and aligned with the doctrine and philosophy of Celebration Church.

● Work closely with the Pastoral Staff and elders to plan services that elevate the ministries of the church.

Musical Leadership & Development● Lead congregational worship with excellence, humility, and pastoral sensitivity.

● Incorporate both historic hymns and contemporary worship music in a way that unites generations and strengthens congregational participation.

● Play piano and/or guitar proficiently and use those skills to serve and train others.

● Recruit, train, disciple, and develop musicians and vocalists within the church.

● Provide oversight and direction for worship teams, rehearsals, and musical planning, and multiple services.

Discipleship & Training● Invest in the spiritual and musical development of worship leaders and musicians.

● Create pathways for training future worship leaders within the local church.

● Foster a culture where musicians are discipled as servants, not performers.

● Collaborate with the Pastoral Institute of the Western Slope to help develop an academic and practical Worship Leader Track within the two-year institute.

● Contribute to curriculum development, mentoring, and practical and theological training for emerging worship leaders in the region.

QualificationsSpiritual & Character Qualifications● Evident spiritual maturity, godly character, and a shepherd's heart, necessary to meet the Biblical standard of qualification (1st Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9).

● Demonstrated theological depth and discernment, especially regarding worship, the church, and the gospel.

● Fully aligned with the doctrine, values, and ministry philosophy of Celebration Church.

● A humble, teachable spirit with a strong commitment to the local church.

Experience & Education● Recommended 10 years of worship ministry experience in a pastoral setting.

● A master's degree in a related field is preferred.

● Proven experience leading worship across multiple musical styles and contexts.

Skills & Abilities● Proficiency in piano and / or guitar.

● Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

● Ability to mentor, train, and develop musicians and worship leaders.

● Experience working collaboratively with pastoral staff and ministry teams.

● Familiarity with worship production and media (including audio/visual systems, post-production, and video editing) is strongly preferred.
