Worship Pastor

The OpportunityConnection Church is seeking a Worship Pastor who is passionate about creating environments where people can encounter Jesus, grow in community, and take their next step in following Him. This role is more than leading music. As a member of the church's Lead Team, the Worship Pastor will help shape the spiritual culture of the church by providing leadership for both worship and discipleship ministries.

The ideal candidate is a visionary leader, team builder, and disciple-maker who can develop volunteers, invest in leaders, and help create a church culture where people discover and follow Jesus while sharing the Gospel with their world. Because Connection Church values multiplication and leadership development, this person will be energized by raising up others and building systems that help people move from attending services to living on mission.

Key ResponsibilitiesWorship Ministry Leadership:

• Provide vision, leadership, and oversight for all worship ministries at Connection Church.
• Create and cultivate worship environments that point people to Jesus and encourage congregational engagement.
• Recruit, develop, schedule, and pastor worship team members, musicians, and vocalists.
• Select and lead songs that are biblically sound, Christ-centered, and conducive to corporate worship.
• Build a healthy volunteer culture that emphasizes spiritual growth, excellence, and teamwork.
• Plan and coordinate worship experiences in collaboration with the Lead Pastor and ministry staff.
• Develop leaders and ministry teams with a long-term focus on multiplication and sustainability.

Small Groups and Discipleship Leadership

• Provide leadership and oversight for the church's small groups ministry as the primary pathway for discipleship and community.
• Recruit, train, coach, and care for small group leaders.
• Establish systems that help new and existing believers grow in their relationship with Christ through biblical community.
• Maintain regular communication, encouragement, and development opportunities for group leaders.
• Create and implement strategies that lead to the multiplication of healthy small groups.
• Coordinate group leader trainings, connection events, and discipleship initiatives.
• Equip small group leaders to lead their groups toward evangelism, outreach, and local mission engagement.
• Work collaboratively with church leadership to ensure small groups support the overall mission and vision of Connection Church.

Church Leadership

• Serve as a member of the Lead Team and contribute to the overall leadership and direction of the church.
• Champion and embody the mission, vision, values, and culture of Connection Church.
• Invest in the development of leaders and volunteers throughout the church.
• Participate in pastoral ministry, shepherding, and discipleship opportunities as needed.
• Contribute to the flexibility and collaborative spirit necessary in a growing church environment.

Membership and AlignmentBecause leadership flows from commitment and community, the Worship Pastor (and spouse if applicable) will become active members of Connection Church, faithfully participating in the life of the church through worship, service, generosity, discipleship, and submission to the leadership of the elders.
