Youth and Young Adult Pastor

Job Overview

Christ Bible Church is seeking a full-time Youth and Young Adult Pastor to serve the mission of our church to Preach the Word, Make Disciples who Make Disciples, and Engage our World. The Youth and Young Adult Pastor is responsible for leading, discipling, and shepherding the middle school, high school, and young adult (ages 18-25) ministries of Christ Bible Church. This role exists to help students grow in their love for Christ, His Word, and His Church, while partnering with parents to support discipleship in the home.

Job Description

Personal Qualifications:

• The candidate must be qualified and fit for ministry under the Scriptural descriptions found in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.

• The candidate must exhibit spiritual, relational, and emotional maturity with a desire for continued growth.

• The candidate must be self-motivated and ideally either has or is working toward a degree in theology or a related field.
• The candidate must possess the ability to teach small and medium-sized groups and be comfortable initiating relationships.
• The applicant must also be willing to adhere to Christ Bible Church's Statement of Faith and other ecclesial documents (see christbible.church).

Youth Ministry Oversight:

• The Youth and Young Adult Pastor will lead the weekly student ministry gathering. This includes teaching biblical studies, planning events and activities, recruiting and equipping volunteers, and building meaningful relationships with students.

• The Youth and Young Adult Pastor will also be responsible for helping parents disciple their teenagers. This includes meeting with parents, providing resources and regular discipleship opportunities, offering encouragement, and modeling family worship and spiritual leadership.

• The Youth and Young Adult Pastor will establish and cultivate a culture of discipleship and evangelism among students. This includes modeling personal discipleship and evangelism while providing relevant materials and training to equip students to live out their faith with their friends, coworkers, and classmates.

Young Adult Ministry Oversight:

• The Youth and Young Adult Pastor will build and maintain a young adult ministry that aligns with the vision and mission of Christ Bible Church.

• The Youth and Young Adult Pastor will lead a regular gathered meeting for the young adults that includes biblical teaching, planning events, and building meaningful relationships with young adults.

• The Youth and Young Adult Pastor will collaborate with other like-minded churches to provide young adults inter-church connections and serving opportunities

• The Youth and Young Adult Pastor will equip young adults to serve the church and their community for the glory of God. This includes promoting and facilitating discipleship, serving opportunities, and evangelism.

General Responsibilities:

• As a staff member, the Youth and Young Adult Pastor will meet with and disciple church members as part of our church's goal of making disciples who make disciples.

• The Youth and Young Adult Pastor is expected to serve in general church activities and ministries as needed and as directed by the Elder Board.

• The Youth and Young Adult Pastor will faithfully participate in the worship, fellowship, and life of Christ Bible Church, be present as needed at deacon and elder meetings, and be personally discipled by one elder for personal and professional development.
