YOUTH MINISTRY GUYS' COORDINATOR
POSITION: (FT / Regular / Salaried / Exempt / 37.5 hours per week)
The Youth Ministry Guys' Coordinator at Fourth Presbyterian Church is a year-round, full-time salaried position that serves the church within the Youth Department. Under the leadership and direction of the Director of Youth and College Ministry, and working closely with the Youth Committee and entire Youth Team, this position helps oversee and serve the Youth Ministry. Applicants should be college graduates or the equivalent age with at least some youth ministry experience (volunteer, summer, part-time or full-time).
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary duty and responsibility of this position is to be a disciple of Jesus and witness to God's work in your life by serving Fourth's Youth Ministry, through which you encourage students to experience an arresting relationship with Jesus and disciple them in their Christian faith. This includes, but not limited to, the following:
- Shaping, teaching, and shepherding students within the Youth Ministry (with a particular focus on Fourth's male students).
- Supporting the Youth Ministry's efforts to reach unchurched students and assisting in equipping Fourth's students to do the same.
- Assisting with logistics, planning and coordination of Sunday School, Bible study, special events, fellowship events, summer events, retreats and trips.
- Providing support for the summer staff program, including, but not limited to, assisting in the recruiting and running of the summer staff program.
- Maintaining the Youth Ministry calendar to coordinate workflow and meetings.
- Recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers (with a particular focus on Fourth's male volunteer teachers and leaders).
- Interacting with parents, visitors, and other persons who express interest in or have questions about the Youth Ministry.
Position Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS & ABILITIES:
- Growing and active relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
- Capacity and desire to work as a part of the Youth Ministry Team, with a heart, passion, and vision for the Youth Ministry.
- Ability to effectively work with Fourth staff, youth staff, youth committee and parents.
- Ability to effectively manage volunteers, part-time staff and Summer Staff.
- Strong and effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong and effective verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Strong and effective organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and responsibilities.
- Familiarity with general office procedures, either through formal training or equivalent experience.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment and computer software programs.
- Member (or willing to become a member) of Fourth Presbyterian Church.
