Job Overview

The primary role of the Student Ministry leader is to lead the students (6th-12th grade) of Citylight South. The Student Ministry leader will teach, pursue, disciple, and equip the students of Citylight South to help them walk with Jesus. With the pursuit of students, the Student Ministry leader will develop relationships with parents to help them disciple their children. Secondary work will be directed to overseeing the global partnerships of Citylight South. Included would be communication, training, and sending teams to our partnerships. They will also be Joyfully committed to the mission and vision of Citylight South church

Job Description

Student Ministry Responsibilities

• Oversee both middle and high school ministries.
• Decide what teaching series will be and be the main teacher and leader for Wednesday and Sunday evenings.
• Lead and plan a fall/spring retreat for students.
• Advocate for students to be a part of the whole church in areas of participation, serving, and belonging to the whole church body.
• Pursue students outside of Youth ministry nights.
• Oversee the student ministry budget

Volunteer Responsibilities

• Recruiting and leading student ministry volunteers. Processing background checks, providing encouragement, and care.
• Have volunteer meetings before the semester to cast vision, encourage, and equip them.
• Equip them to lead and teach youth ministry nights.

Parent Responsibilities

• Cultivate relationships with parents to encourage them as they disciple their children.
• Research and resource parents to know and understand what is happening on youth ministry nights to help cultivate conversations at home.

Global engagement

• Regularly check in and connect with our global partners
• Help the staff to connect with our global partners
• Update the church on what is happening through our global partnership
• Help the church pray for the global efforts and partners and for the nations
• Plan and mobilize teams to go to the nations
• Assist in any fundraising that may come up to help with the global partnership

Misc

• Periodically preach and teach in various settings
• Help and assist in other church efforts as needed
