Hours: 25-30 hours per weekPurpose: The Youth Pastor will carry out the mission of the church by assisting students in grades 6-12 in making strategic life-decisions for Christ and by implementing an outreach program whereas unchurched families are led into ministries of the church. They shall be responsible for all phases of youth ministry and seek to blend this ministry into the total church program in such a way as to win the unevangelized and unengaged and to enrich the spiritual growth of the church membership. This pastor will assist families in coming alongside the church in shepherding the hearts and minds of future generations.
Qualification:
This pastor must be a born-again, Spirit-filled individual who senses the call of God to youth ministry.This pastor shall meet each standard put forth in the Baptist Faith and Message.This pastor shall have a love of God's Word and the ability to teach and preach the Word.This pastor shall live in accordance with standards given to Elders and Overseers in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.
Responsibilities:
Meet periodically with the senior pastor to review and discuss current ministries. The regularity of these meetings shall be at the discretion of the senior pastor.
Plan and implement discipleship opportunities for students to grow in their knowledge and relationship with Jesus Christ.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and the larger church body.
Serve as a staff member of the church and to be involved in regular staff meetings, regular worship services, small groups, and the overall ministry of the church.
Train parents and leaders of students to minister to young people.
Cooperate with the local school systems to develop, promote, and implement programs that encourage a relationship with Christ.
Establish and follow departmental budgets, as directed by the senior pastor. ● Provide pastoral care and crisis-response to youth families.
Maintain the youth social media page.
Establish procedures for ensuring the health and safety of students and leaders during all activities. Require background checks for all student leadersMaintain parental permission forms when appropriate for student activities.
Move and arrange sanctuary chairs for Sunday morning and Wednesday evening services.
Other duties as assigned.
Starting salary of $26,000, with the potential for a higher starting salary based on qualifications and experience.
