Senior Pastor: Jacobstown Baptist Church

Job Description:

Jacobstown Baptist Church is seeking a full-time Senior Pastor who will take an active role in leading, equipping, and shepherding the congregation in partnership with the elders and members. He will be committed to speaking the truth of Scripture while being theologically informed, relevant, and practical. The ideal candidate would also take an active role in shaping all services with the focus on pointing our members to the greatness and goodness of our Savior. Our ideal candidate would possess qualities that would allow them to provide solid biblical preaching, individual discipleship, oversight for outreach mission and ministries, biblically saturated worship, and leadership in church planning, while valuing Scripture as a source of truth and maintaining a broadly reformed view of the Christian life and the Gospel.

Position Qualifications:

– Faith and Character: Demonstrate a clear love for Christ, reflected in both personal life and ministry work in accordance with the Biblical qualifications for leaders.

– Education and Ordination: Preferably a college or post graduate education (but will consider candidates that do not possess a degree).

– Experience: Meaningful pastoral experience is preferred.

– Biblical Standards: Exemplify the biblical qualifications outlined in 1 Tim. 3:10; Titus 1:5-16; 1 Peter 5:1-2.

– Theological Communication: Show a demonstrated ability to articulate biblical theology in a clear, understandable, and applicable manner for church members.

– Leadership Skills: Be a servant leader with strong leadership abilities, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and one with a collaborative mindset.

We are a church that seeks to be formed and shaped by the word of God in all that we do, say, and think, while seeking to pass those values on to each coming generation. Our church's purpose statement affirms the following: "We purpose to meet together to prayerfully equip and encourage believers of Jesus Christ, through the preaching and teaching of God's Word, to go and share Christ faithfully, while being conformed to the likeness of Jesus Christ." Our church family applies this purpose through our thriving AWANA program, young adult group, ladies groups and ministries, youth group, men's breakfasts and meetings, and a variety of small groups throughout the year designed to support the spiritual growth of the congregation. We also have a long history of community outreach through programs such as our living nativity, Trunk or Treat, Easter Dessert Theater, Thanksgiving baskets, and a benevolent fund. Through our services and ministries, we desire to present the Lord in all His glory to everyone that comes through our doors.
